Timeline

This graphical representation of the time lapse between 2400 BCE and 1500 CE  was conceived and carried out in a first version by architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, at the time when Museo Amparo opened. In homage to the architect and recognizing the great public interest in this graphic resource, the idea of the timeline was recovered with modifications, the use of color images and the creation of a specific band for Mexico underneath the one for America.

Timelines allow us to grasp a clear idea about events that occurred simultaneously in different parts of the world. The observer must understand that the size and arrangement of the images prevents, in some cases, the exact correspondence to a particular date. Therefore, some of the contents have an approximate character and its function is to indicate the type of work characteristics of different eras.
