Elena Damiani. Testigos: un catálogo de fragmentos

The proposal Sediments: an assemblage of remains by Elena Damiani (Lima, Peru, 1979) operates in the realm of matter like a container of memory, where diverse geological times overlap in order to be exposed and to configure an abstract landscape in the manner of a topographic map on the stone. The installation is composed of two sculptures in travertine marble originated in Peru, which contains small fissures: hiatuses or lacunae making evident breaks, filtrations and discordances in geological time. This installation is located in an interstitial space at the museum, where Damiani configures the intervention in the architectonic space as a gesture with physical, geometric, historical, topological and anthropological connotations.

Intemperie sur [South Outdoors] is a project in collaboration between Museo Amparo and Museo Universitario Arte Contemporaneo, UNAM that aims to generate a platform of visibility and inclusion for emergent cultural production, as well as provoke new flows of exchange between local and peripheral scenes. To this end, young artists from different regions of Mexico and abroad were invited to carry out site-specific projects on patios, in hallways, or on balconies of participating institutions, over the course of 2015-2016.
