In the various patios of the museum, as well as in transit spaces, a selection of works that are part of the Contemporary Art Collection is presented, conceived for or from the dynamics of public space. These pieces address environmental problems of cities by intertwining elements of popular culture with an ironic proposal to generate a responsible ecological impact (Bicivocho, 2001, by Helen Escobedo); they pose critical positions before the official commemoration of facts and events, often materialized in objects and buildings of a monumental nature (Transportable Obelisk, 2004, by Damian Ortega); the impact of the systematic occupation of sound space in the construction of the collective memory of a particular time (Only of General Interest, 2011, by Julieta Aranda); as well as the importance of participation of all of society in order to counteract power dynamics (Leverage, 2006, by Pedro Reyes).
